Demolition Starts

We have done quite a bit of cleanup on the inside of the house last fall along with some minor demolition in the basement in preparation for moving the house. The biggest change is the removal of the porch from the front of the house. It was in terrible shape so had to go anyway. Here are a few pictures. During the outside cleanup performed by the land owner, a portion of the porch was damaged. in an ensuing wind storm the east corner of the roof collapsed. In the end that was a bit of a blessing as it made it easier to get started. After a morning of hard work the porch was gone. We salvaged what we could just in case we need some materials during the renovation.
Hopefully we are getting a little smarter with our blog as we have clicked on the “Accept Comments” box so that anyone can send us a note back. Guess we will see.

Just wanting to see if I am approved or not. House looks much better after the porch came off – before that it did, indeed, look like quite a challenge.
